Where does the data come from?

All climate data comes from Open-Meteo, which aggregates data from national meteorological services worldwide. Historical data goes back to 1940.

How accurate is the data?

Open-Meteo uses quality-controlled data from weather stations, satellites, and reanalysis models. Resolution varies by location but is generally accurate to within 0.5C for temperature.

Is the data free?

Yes. Open-Meteo is completely free with no API key required. It is funded by donations and community support.

What cities are available?

We track 50 major world cities across all continents. You can compare any two cities using our comparison tool.

What parameters are tracked?

Temperature (max, min), precipitation, wind speed, and solar radiation. All data is available at daily resolution.
